A pinch of Redman was all it took to make him happy
In his favorite overalls
He'd sit there in that same old chair, with the same old stories
His best friend was his dog
His eyes twinkled every time
He'd point to the chevy in his drive and say
They don't make 'em like that no more, boy that's for sure
She was five hundred dollars in '65
To this day I still trust that old pickup truck
And I'm proud to call it mine
He'd wake me up before daylight those winter mornings
Make a biscuit for me and him
We'd pack up, jump in the truck and head down the road
To his favorite piece of land
On his tailgate he'd set the case and open it up
He'd say boy see this here gun
They don't make 'em like that no more, yea that's for sure
Shoots dead on every time
No safety button, no double pump, just a single shot
But I'm proud to call it mine
Son I brought you to this place today
To pay respect to your great-grandpa's grave
There's alot of things in life we'll forget
But take a good look at his name and remember this
They don't make 'em like that no more, boy that's for sure
With that strong sense of pride
He was stubborn but seldom wrong, world's best papa
And I'm proud to call him mine
