In Memory of Pud Teater - 3/11/11

This here's the story about an old, KY fella, that I recall from my childhood. His name was Charles Teater, but, we all just called him Pud

His skin was dark, and tough as leather from years of toilin’ in the sun. Them tobacco fields were cruel to his back, and left him walkin’ with a slump

He was humble, quiet, and meek, an old farmer who minded his own
But we were new to the country, so he made us feel at home

In the hearts of all men, but never attained
Until Christopher Columbus unknowingly found
A new land in which I would, one day, abound
So, one by one, ships sailed my way
In search of my shores and a much brighter day
The risk, it was high, but the reward so great

Experiencing Hank - 6/13/09

On my way to a family vacation in Gulf Shores, AL, I had decided to visit Hank Williams grave in Montgomery, and pay my respects. It was along the way, and I would be there around midnight. According to Alan Jackson, “Hank’s always singin’ there”.
